Privacy Policy
Last updated: 9 May 2026
Neap doesn't track you, doesn't run analytics, and doesn't have a server. Your sessions and settings stay on your device and (if iCloud is enabled) in your own iCloud. I never see them.
Who we are
Neap is an iOS app developed by Burak Akyalçın ("I", "me"). I'm an independent developer based in Türkiye. You can reach me at burakakyalcin6@gmail.com.
What Neap stores on your device
Neap stores the following on the device you installed it on, using Apple's standard local storage APIs:
- Sessions — start time, end time, duration, mode (countdown / stopwatch / cycle), and status (completed / abandoned). Stored via SwiftData.
- Cycle segment events — markers for when each focus or break segment started, ended, or was skipped or paused. Stored alongside the corresponding session.
- Last-used configurations — the duration you last picked for countdown and your last cycle setup. Synced via iCloud Key-Value Store so your iPhone and iPad agree.
- Theme preference — System / Light / Dark, stored locally per device.
- Notification preference — whether you've allowed Neap to send notifications, stored locally.
iCloud sync
If you have iCloud enabled on your device, your sessions and last-used configurations sync across devices signed in to the same Apple ID via Apple's CloudKit and iCloud Key-Value Store. This data lives in your own iCloud account — I don't operate any servers and have no access to it. Apple's privacy policy applies to iCloud data: apple.com/legal/privacy.
Notifications
Neap can send local notifications when a session or cycle segment ends, if you grant permission. The notifications are scheduled and delivered entirely on your device — they do not go through any third-party server.
What Neap does not collect
- No analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporters.
- No advertising identifiers, no tracking SDKs, no third-party services.
- No personal information beyond what you voluntarily provide via email.
Children
Neap is not directed at children under 13. Because Neap doesn't collect personal data, there's no risk of inadvertently collecting it from minors, but I expect users to comply with the Apple App Store age requirements.
Your rights
Because Neap doesn't collect or transmit your data, there's no centralized profile to access, correct, or delete on my end. To remove all your Neap data:
- Delete the app from your device.
- Sign out of iCloud, or delete the Neap container from Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage.
Changes to this policy
I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above and, when significant, announced inside the app or via the App Store release notes.
