Frequently Asked Questions
How do I start a focus session?
Open Neap and select your desired duration (30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours or 4 hours). Choose your commitment mode (Normal or Ultra Focus Mode) and tap "Start Session". Your selected apps will be blocked for the duration.
What's the difference between Normal and Ultra Focus Mode?
Normal Mode: You can end your session early if needed by tapping "End Session".
Ultra Focus Mode: Once started, the session cannot be ended early. Apps remain blocked until the timer completes. This mode helps build stronger focus habits. If you really want to end the session you have to delete the app. But please remember, deleting the app deletes all your data including your session history and stats.
Why don't I see all my focus sessions?
Neap only displays sessions that are 20 minutes or longer to keep your history meaningful. If you start a session that crosses midnight, it will be split into separate segments for each day, with each segment needing to be at least 10 minutes to appear. For example, a 30-minute session from 11:45 PM to 12:15 AM will show as two 15-minute sessions on consecutive days. But another session from 23:55 PM to 12:25 AM will show a single session of 25 minutes on the latter day.
Why can't I block certain apps?
Some system apps and essential services cannot be blocked due to iOS restrictions. Neap can only block apps that Apple's Screen Time API allows. Make sure you've granted all necessary permissions in Settings > Screen Time.
How do I select apps to block?
Go to Settings within Neap and tap "Select Apps to Block". You can choose individual apps or entire categories (like Social Networking or Games). Your selections are saved for all future sessions.
What are the premium features?

How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed through your Apple ID. Go to Settings > Your Name > Subscriptions on your iPhone, find Neap, and tap "Cancel Subscription". You'll continue to have access until the end of your billing period.
Can I use Neap on multiple devices?
Yes! Your premium subscription is tied to your Apple ID and can be used on all devices signed in with the same Apple ID. However, blocked app selections are device-specific due to Screen Time limitations. Also, your history and stats are also device-specific (for now).
Troubleshooting
Apps aren't being blocked
- Ensure Screen Time is enabled in iOS Settings
- Check that Neap has permission to manage Screen Time
- Verify you've selected apps to block in Neap's settings
- Restart your device if the issue persists
Widget not appearing
- Ensure you have an active premium subscription
- Long-press on your home screen and tap the + button
- Search for "Neap" and add the widget
- Make sure you've selected apps to block before using the widget
Subscription not recognized
- Tap "Restore Purchases" in Neap's premium section
- Ensure you're signed in with the correct Apple ID
- Check your subscription status in iOS Settings > Your Name > Subscriptions
- Wait a few minutes and restart the app
